MINI stage programme
Many of the most attractive bands of the line up of this edition will play on the MINI stage, which like last year is on the Barcelona seafront. On the first day there will be dark pop from the British band The xx, the classical melodies of Death Cab For Cutie, indie with ethnic overtones from Beruit, the uplifting sounds of Jason Pierce’s band Spiritualized, Sr Chinarro from Seville, without a doubt one of our most renowned composers, the promising new band from the States, Friends and the Portuguese band Linda Martini.
On Friday the British band Death in Vegas and electronic pop from M83 head the programme, that will also include punk rock from Wavves, sunny romantic pop from Girls, the concerts of Christina Rosenvinge looking back over her career and Bigott confirming his ever increasing importance on the Spanish music scene. The comeback of the post hard-core band Chavez rounds off the second day of concerts.
Beach House, without any doubt one of the bands of the moment, and the classical indie of Yo La Tengo are two of the main draws of Saturday night, accompanied by Grupo de Expertos Solynieve with their Andalusian pop rock, neo garage from Hanni El Khatib, high flying electronic music from LFO, the British band Veronica Falls and vintage rock from the band The Right Ons.
Record Fair and Flatstock
San Miguel Primavera Sound has a space of national and international independent record labels on the esplanade of the Parc del Fòrum site. During this tenth edition of the record fair, a total of 42 labels will show their products to the public from Thursday 31st May until Saturday 2nd June and many of them are represented by their artists in the programmed concerts. See list of participating artists here.
Next to the record fair there will also be the touring show of concert posters Flatstock. Thanks to this unusual proposal, people at the festival will be able to see and purchase the works of over 30 artists from different countries on the spot.
The fair is complemented by the free exhibition, of over 70 works selected by Flatstock and The Poster Collective, "Flatstock: the world of music posters” in the Virreina Centre de la Imatge, until the 3rd June.
