Take shelter: A Place To Bury Strangers are coming back to Barcelona

  • The New York trio will be at Sidecar on 2nd September presenting their fifth album, Pinned

The catacombs of the world are where the most coveted desires are hidden. And A Place To Bury Strangers have spent over a decade guarding the crypts of New York noise rock, with psychedelia to one side and shoegaze to the other. A lot of water has flowed under the bridge during this period: five albums, a handful of EPs, smashed up guitars and changes in formation that have culminated in the current power trio, formed by Oliver Ackermann, Dion Lunadon and Lia Simone Braswell, the latest arrival.

“When you go to a show and you are actually scared, you can palpably feel the danger in the music”. This is how the members of A Place To Bury Strangers describe their live shows. And now they can say it about their new album, Pinned, released this very year on Dead Oceans, on which the trajectory towards encapsulating their explosive performance in record format is largely due to Simone’s participation. Beware the walls of Sidecar in Barcelona on 2nd September and those of Moby Dick in Madrid on 30th August, as they will shake. And there will be no place to hide.
