On the second day, 23rd May, the three bands will also be joined by Single Parents, an alternative rock band that will also play at Primavera Sound. The concerts will take place in the Cine Joia in Sao Paulo. A critical success thanks to their latest album Unrest, the sound of Single Parents is organic and powerful and is founded on the guitar-rock of the end of the 80s and the beginning of the 90s.

Móveis Coloniais de Acaju
Formed in 1998, the Brazilian band Móveis Coloniais de Acaju has released two albums: “Idem” in 2005 and “C_mpl_te” in 2009. They have also played at events such as Brasília Music Festival, Festival de MPB de la UNESP de Ilha Solteira, FMB (Feira Música Brasil) de Recife and, more recently, at Rock In Rio. Between concerts and festivals, the band has performed with North American bands such as Weezer, Live, Alanis Morissette, The Slackers and Voodoo Glow Skulls, the British band Simply Red and Desorden Público from Venezuela.

Directly from Goiania to the wide world, Boogarins signed a contract for three albums on the Other Music Recording Co label with distribution by Fat Possum Record. And everything started with no pretentions whatsoever. The truth is that their first album, “As Plantas Que Curam”, shows a delicacy and an intimacy that are extremely rare. The band is currently touring the United States and Europe.

Black Drawing Chalks
One of the most important independent bands in Brazil in the last decade Black Drawing Chalks’ quick and powerful rock’n’roll moves between 70s’ music, stoner rock and indie rock, all of them revisited in their home city scene Goiania. They have been around since 2006 and have released three albums: “Big Deal” (2007), “Life is a Big Holiday for Us” (2009) and “No Dust Stuck on You” (2012). “Life is a Big Holiday for Us” was voted the sixth best album of the year and “My Favorite Way”, best single by the magazine Rolling Stone Brazil in 2009 and their video was considered done of the best by MTV Brazil. They have already participated in the festivals Lollapalooza Brazil, SWU, Grito Rock, Bananada, as well as SXSW (USA), Canadian Music Week (Canada), Rock al Parque (Colombia), Liverpool Sound City and Great Escape (UK).

Single Parents
Formed in Sao Paulo at the beginning of 2009, Single Parents have influences that stand out in their compositions, which range from grunge, shoegaze, lo-fi and early 90s American or British-produced post punk. In 2011, the released their first album, “Unrest”, produced by the American, Roger Paul Manson, who worked with Dirty Projectors, Mike Patton and Holger.

The Legendary Tigerman
The Legendary Tigerman is the artistic name of Paulo Furtado, vocalist, blues musician and one-man band from Portugal. With a unique style, Furtado plays the guitar, harmonica and drum kit alone on stage. He has released seven albums, amongst which “Naked Blues” from 2002; “Masquerade” from 2006 and “Femina” from 2009 stand out. Furtado is also the vocalist and main composer of the band Wraygunn and was founding member of the former band Tédio Boys.
