Thought it'd be useful to have a thread about logistics, questions, advice about Primavera, especially for first-timers like me

I have bought my tickets from seetickets, hoping they get out here (Australia) before we leave for Spain, anyone else bought through them? i've used them for gig tickets when i was in London, just not for festivals

anyway i've heard a few of you experienced ones saying take the ticket in on the Wednesday(or was it Thursday?) to get you the wristband for the festival proper? Is this how it works? didn't get VIP, missed out on them

If you're in town earlier, you can usually pick up wristbands and entry cards from the Apollo club during the day, from the Monday or Tuesday, which means you avoid the queues on the Thursday. That said, i don't imagine it's too bad if you get to the Forum site early on the Tursday. Downside is you need to carry your passport around first night that way

Have used Setickets in the past when ordering standard Prima tickets and got the ticket well in advance.

As most of the festival goers are SPanish and most of them work if you get to the festival site around 4-5pm on Thursday you wont have to queue. Once it gets past 5.30-6pm though it gets busy and you can wait a fair old time.

Enjoy whatever option you take.

RE:Wristband+card

Last year was a bit different. If I recall properly, you could enter with your ticket (Apolo and all the other venues) on Monday and Tuesday. They started giving wristbands on Wednesday at Poble Espanyol.

Since this year's Wednesday is free-for-all, my guess is they will start on Thursday with the wristband+card thing, at the Forum. So, as Wakestock points out, it always pays to go there as early as possible. If I'm not wrong, they usually open around noon on Thursday, so it's even possible to go back and keep your passport safe from a probably wild first night at the Forum.

But this is only my guess. Maybe they open a box office at Apolo since Monday.

And for you all rookies, feel free to ask. There's always details that can make your days at PS a bit easier.

2011: The collection of tickets and exchange of full festival tickets can be done at the Apolo from Monday 23rd and on Tuesday 24th May from 4pm until 10pm. To get into the pre festival showcases it is NOT necessary to do the exchange, you only need to show your ticket, your print at home or the receipt of the purchase.

The timetable to collect tickets and exchange full festival tickets at the Poble Espanyol on Wednesday 25th May is from 1pm until 11 pm. You will see the exchange and collection at Avenida Marquès de Comillas.

We remind you that access to the Poble Espanyol is subject to capacity. It is only possible to see the concerts in the Poble Espanyol with the full festival ticket.

The timetable for exchanging tickets at the entrance to the Parc del Fòrum site is Thursday 27th to Saturday 29th from midday until 2.00am.

Aye, didn't mean to sound abrupt with my previous reply, sorry mate!!!

In previous years, Seetickets have sent the tickets out with pleny of time to spare, although Australia is a good bit further away from Scotland so I can't vouch for them over that distance. :D

There are various gigs and events outwith the main festival which take place over the week. Details will be on the main site in plenty of time.

This year, the biggest gigs outwith the main event will be the concerts at the ArC De Triumf . Last year these where at the Poble Espanyol. The Arc De Triumf is very central and has a metro station well within walking distance. It is on the red line as far as I can remember. There will be gigs on there Wednesday and Sunday.

There are various other smaller gigs in venues across the city throughout the week. Check the website for details. :D

There is usually a Prima closing night party which takes place in the Apolo club you mention. I've been to the Apolo once but not for the closing night at Prima. Check the Prima website or the Apolo's own website on how to get there. It won't be difficult.

Collecting wristbands is usually fairly straightforward although there will be queues depending on when you go to collect.

Feel free to ask any further questions on the festival or city of Barcelona 8)

Re: wristbands - This will be my 3rd year going. I think someone mentioned it earlier, but yes, you can pick them up at the forum earlier on Thursday (as opposed to when the festival starts, around 4 or 5 pm) if you want to wait until day of. I've always done this so that I can get my wristband and be left with time to go back to the hotel and drop off my passport. While there have been lines earlier in the day, I've never seen them outrageously long. In the past two years, I never spent more than say 20 minutes picking up my wristband.

Btw, great idea to start a thread where info can be shared, where those who have been can help out.

have also read that if you purchased tickets using PayPal you can just hand over the receipt for the wristband? is this right?

i know tickets tickets tickets, and the info will come. Just have a friend who has decided they want to come now, but the ticket won't arrive for her before she leaves for Spain

it doesn't really sell out anyway does it? could just get tickets there if so

You also need your id/passport. And the name on the id/passport have to be the same as the name on the one who purchased the tickets (and on printed receipt from PayPal).

The queues looked very long on Thursday last year. I would get mine as early as possible.
